The world is certainly a vast place, but one that feels increasingly small the more we travel it and learn more about its distinct landscapes and people. And while we always marvel at the distinct uniqueness that makes up its different cultures, the truth isn’t as isolated and separated as we think. There is a strong interconnectedness that permeates through each living being and place on earth and while most of us might never realise it, there are those who can sense these connections and draw on their power to achieve greatness.

 

These are not ordinary people though, but people known as planeshifters who are able to travel across the different parts of the world instantly and draw on its powers to improve their strength. Their power though is also a curse though because for something to become stronger something else must become weaker and as a result, the more powerful planeshifters get, the weaker the fragments that hold life together become.

 

Which is why, many centuries ago, the Plane Wars were established as a way of keeping these forces in check and preventing plane shifters from getting too strong. Every few years, tournaments are held where planeshifters engage in combat with each other where they are forced to expend their energy in battles to prevent them from becoming too strong. It is a brutal competition, but one which is vital to ensure planeshifters never threaten the balance of life
